Built-in cabinets



Shown in these two pics are the basic boxes that almost all IKEA cabinets start with. After one builds the box, one can clad it with a variety of doors, tops, and side panels. This cabinet system is acting as both clothing storage and a permanently anchored rail for the loft space.

This box will be bolted to the deck and clad with the same veneer as in the kitchen once we have hefted all the large furniture over the edge. Without using a chainsaw, the 108 inch long sofa in the top pic would have been a challenge on the stairs....

Electricity is done!

Our electrical service is done! (well, except for the all important punch list that will be knocked out on Monday) The Integrity Electic guys spent several days here this week. They said we have one of the most intense switching systems they have ever seen in a residential project.......I must confess that I'm still not sure what all 12 of the switches behind the front door actually do..... Pictured is Joe from Integrity Electric putting the finishing touches on our kitchen island. The counter top guys were here on Wed to measure the counters, they were fabricated today and will be installed next Wednesday....

It's finally done...

   We're excited to report that our house is finally, really, officially DONE!  The shower hardware in the third-floor bathroom was installed this past weekend.   Yes, we moved in back in June of 2006....Don't judge...
